Cake

Oma made her famous chocolate cake for Brad's birthday--he was a little excited!

Easel!

I saved the easel and supplies (thanks Grandma & Grandpa!) for Brad to open after dinner. He was SO excited when he saw it! I think we have an Impressionist on our hands...

Anne has a cameo...

...at the Finn's blog.

Birthday Pics!

Brad got up on "go" Tuesday morning and ran around the house, waking everyone up at 6:30am. He was ready to have his birthday! Here he is, waiting patiently to open a few presents (we saved some for dinner time).

The Thomas blanket! We carry it with us everywhere now.

Sleepy

Anne was having quiet play time when I suddenly realized it was a little too quiet...

She was in a good mood when I woke her up--I don't think she was asleep for long.

Sunday Best

If you get a Christmas card from us this year with Bradford looking a little...well, silly, it's because the poor child has completely forgotten how to smile normally. I don't know what happened--he used to smile nicely, and now he doesn't. He's not being defiant--he really doesn't know what to do when you ask him to smile!

Thank you!

A big thank you to everyone who called and sent presents to Brad! He LOVED all the phone calls--every time the phone rang today he said, "It's for me!" and talked the ear off of the person on the other end.

And thank you, thank you for the wonderful presents! He was the happiest little boy EVER. I'll be getting thank you notes out shortly, but wanted to let all of you know that you made his day!

Happy Birthday!

My baby boy is four years old today!

Yes, he was jaundiced, if you couldn't tell from the picture!

This is one of my favorite pictures--can you believe he used to curl up like that--that he would fit in such a tiny space? Now he's more than half my height!

This was his first Christmas picture.

That's MR. Engineer to you!

Doug was out of town recently and brought Brad home an engineer hat and Anne a tea set. As you can see, he loves the hat and has appropriated the tea set as well....

Miss Engineer

...but that's okay because Anne soon absconded with the engineer hat.

New hairbow

Anne loves her hairbows, and and soon as she's dressed in the morning, she starts asking for her hairbow. "Hairbow? Hairbow?" We recently got some new ones for her, including her first "big" bows, and I've been trying to get a good picture, but she will not oblige. These are the best I've been able to get...

Anne, in another cute fall outfit

I just love playing dress up with Anne! Our former babysitter in Annapolis gave us a ton of winter stockings in all different colors, so we have lots to mix and match for Miss Anne.

Kiddie Rollercoaster

The first time Brad went on this, I went with him, but after that he went alone three more times. By the way, this is how he smiles when you ask him to smile for a picture. Charming.

This is his "I'm smiling for you but I'm looking at the ferris wheel" look.

Grown Up Rides

We made our way from the kiddie section to the midway, where Doug took Brad on the Spider and the Scrambler. These were the best pictures I could get.

After getting off, Brad pronounced both rides "awesome."

First up, the train

How could the train not be our first ride?

State Fair

We went to the State Fair last week and had a blast. I pulled out some sweaters for the kids, but it was in the 80s all day and didn't go below the 70s, so we didn't need them. But they look awfully cute in them!

Aren't you ready yet, Mom?

Tired

I can't remember what we did the night before, but both kids look dazed and tired before we went to church the Sunday this was taken.
