I am finally finished putting Doug's books into LibraryThing!! Actually, my books are in there too, but they account for about 10% of the books--the rest are Doug's.

You can check out our library by clicking here.

I still haven't put the books that are in Doug's office into LibraryThing--I think I'm going to have to do that on a weekend when he can watch the kids--but everything else is in. It only took nine months, but all 3,216 books are labeled! Don't worry--we haven't actually purchased all of those books (I think that would be over $30,000 on books!)--God has been gracious to give Doug a book allowance at almost all of his jobs, so we can thank his employers for our wonderful library.

Actually, I think I had better go downstairs and clean off his's been two weeks since I've done that and he's purchased some more books since then...

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Doug! He is 40 (!!!) today, and I know he would appreciate it if you would email or call and heckle...cough....I mean congratulate him.

Love you, honey!

New Hairdo

I thought Anne's hair might be long enough for pigtails, but it wasn't, so I just used some hairbows to flatten them out. I can't wait until her hair gets long enough to braid!

Go Tigers!

Doug is training Brad up right--Brad recognizes the LSU fight song and shouts "Go Tigers!" at appropriate intervals during games. We let him stay up until 8pm the night this was taken to watch the beginning of the first game of the season.

New Toy

What is this that we have in the playroom?

Doug's boss generously sent Brad this railroad crossing bank. When you put coins in the slot, lights flash and it sounds like a train coming through.

Here's Brad, doing his "I'm so excited I can't speak" dance of joy. I think he likes it.

He actually glued all of the macaroni the same direction all by himself! He may look like Doug, but he's definitely my boy. :)

This is Anne's--she was more interested in eating the glue and macaroni, in that order.

Daddy preached a funeral on Sunday, so he was a little late getting home and the kids were happy to see him.

Big announcement...

...up at Counting Sprinkles!

New Dress

I picked this up at Target, and worried that since it was a 2T, it might be big on Anne, who is now 20 months old. Imagine my dismay when I discovered the sleeves were so tight it almost didn't fit! I'm going to have to make them bigger or they'll cut off her circulation!

Entertainment Books...

Brad's school is selling Entertainment Books for a fundraiser Sept. 8-26. We are not obligated to participate, and there is no reward for participating, so please don't feel obligated to follow up on this.

If, however, you were already planning on purchasing an Entertainment Book (the ones we're selling go for $20), and you can't find one cheaper than $20, email me and I'll hook you up. I can get books that are local to your area of the country.

Like I said, we don't have to sell these--I'm just putting this out there for people who were going to buy them anyway.

First Day of School

Brad's first day of pre-school was on Wednesday the 3rd. He's carrying a totebag that all the parents were required to buy ($3) and decorate at home. I'm not too creative, as you can see!

We can't take a picture without Miss Anne!

Thank you, Grandma

Grandma shared some of her trail mix with Anne.

Making Cookies

Grandma came down for a visit, and she and Anne made cookies together. Okay, Grandma made the cookies and Anne made a mess.

This was supposed to be a post about Anne, but Brad wanted to say hi too. Here he is. Hi!

I bought this shirt forever ago and it's been hanging in the back of Anne's closet. I had forgotten about it until today, and now she's almost grown out of it already, even though it's for 18-24 months!

Anne has her pile-o-stuff that she carries everywhere with her now. We have the blanket, Pooh, bear, and the book (you can see a little corner of it next to Pooh). I don't know how she can carry all this, but we drag it from room to room throughout the day!

Lazy Daze

It's too bad this was the weekend my father and brother visited, because this was the weekend of the annual Lazy Daze festival (we went to Spring Daze in April). I say it's too bad because this is an arts-n-crafts festival, and my mother would have really enjoyed this. As it was, Ben and Dad humored me, and in return I only made them spend an hour there (I went back later on my own for another two hours!).

Brad was fascinated by the rock climbers.

Oma came over for dinner and Dad joined us for dessert.
