Anne and Nana

Anne and Nana really enjoyed each other. Nana bought a shape-sorter, which Anne liked a lot.

Brad was very concerned about they "oryl" (oil) in his tricycle. He always had to make sure there was enough "oryl."

Taking a ride with Daddy.

Now it's Brad's turn!

Anne was SO funny to watch, walking in the grass. It was a bit uneven and she was a little unsteady at first, and she kept hiking her skirt up, as if she didn't want it to touch the grass. Hilarious. Immodest, but hilarious.

Brad found a tricycle, and insisted on not using the pedals. I need to get him a little bike with training wheels to work on that.

Papa Frank bought a kite, but he and Doug had a very hard time putting it together. But they are concentrating very hard, as you can see.

Looks like they're making progress. Anne is keeping an eye on them, to make sure they're not slacking off.

The Kite in Action

It wasn't quite windy enough--I think they spent more time putting it together than they did flying it!

Which way is Papa Fred coming with the car? Is it this way? Or that way?

We found him! We're in the car, heading to Clinton.

And here we are, at Mimi and Papa Fred's house, having fun!

Happy Easter!

Anne, in her pretty dress I bought off the clearance rack at Nordstrom last summer in Annapolis--I've been waiting a long time to put this on her!

Taking a rest before church.

Brad LOVES this tricycle--he puts his "oryle" (oil) in the back. The puzzle pieces are the oryl.

At the park, finale

She loved, loved, loved the slide. We had to let her go down a LOT of times and finally had to drag her away!

Daddy took Anne on a walk around one of the trails--I think she enjoyed herself!

Tired but happy!

I'm not too interested in this. I've been in swings before. What's the big deal, here, anyway?

Okay, this might be a little fun.

All right, I admit it! I love the swing!

Anne at the Park

We live within walking distance of North Cary Park, which is absolutely beautiful. There are two large playgrounds, lots of slides, a place for rock-climbing, and many trails. We all had a lot of fun, but Anne thoroughly enjoyed herself.

Here she is, coolly surveying her domain. Where should I go first? While I'm thinking, I'll stand here with my thumbs in my belt loops and look nonchalant.

Hmmm--what's that over there? Something to climb? I think it's calling my name!

Hey, mom! I'm a big girl now!

The weather was fabulous this weekend, so Brad and I played outside before Anne woke up from her nap--it's so nice to be in a house with a driveway and a backyard. We're VERY grateful for it!

Here is my rendition (at Brad's request) of a train track and a crossing and a train and a freight car. Did you get all that?

This is our side yard--Brad is that speck in the background running after his ball.

And here he is, throwing it down the driveway. He had so much fun just throwing the ball and chasing it. Fine with me! Run out that energy, kiddo.

Hard at work on his next masterpiece.

Last Easter Egg Pics

Dividing up the loot.

Anne making friends with a neighbor.

Eggs opened, chocolate obtained. Mission accomplished.

Aunt Kelly

I completely forgot to add Kelly's blog to our blogroll! My (Nicole's) sister is studying abroad in South Africa this semester, and has a blog chronicling her adventures. Check it out--she has some great pictures on there.

More Easter egg pics

This was held in one of our neighbor's backyards. I thought I had a nice backyard, but theirs was phenomenal. The pictures don't really do justice to the beautiful garden and lake view they have. It was the perfect spot for an egg hunt.

This look is: "I'm posing here because you're my mom, but I have way better things to do, like cracking these eggs open, so let's hurry this up, okay?"

Even more egg pics

I was concentrating on Brad when I turned around to find Anne eating this chocolate egg--in the wrapper. I hope that foil tasted good, Anne!

She looks so triumphant in this picture--put your caption in the comments!

Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood association had an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, and I took the kids. Brad was a little confused on the concept, but quickly figured it out: get as many of the eggs as possible and get the chocolate unwrapped and in your mouth before mommy catches you.

They both had a great time--more pics to follow throughout the week.

Wait, I'm supposed to do what, here? Why would I want an egg when I can eat grass and twigs?

More weekend pics

Brad had a great time exploring the ship.

Here is is, saluting. How cute is that?

And here he is, with the deck gun. Don't worry, it's not loaded.

I'm not sure where on the ship this is, but he's pretty happy about it, whatever it is!
