Anne and Grandma

Anne with Grandpa Hannafan

Anne with Aunt Norma

We went to visit my parents for Memorial Day weekend and got Anne's first pictures with Great-Grandpa Hannafan and Great-Great-Aunt Norma (I'm sure she loves being called "great-great"!). Anne was pretty cranky, because someone (me) forgot to put her down for her afternoon nap.

Silly Brad

Look at those red eyebrows--definitely a sign that someone is ready for bed!!

Just to Compare...

Pics of Anne and Brad at about 5 months

Airplane Scared!

Doug took Brad to an airshow this weekend; no cameras or cell phones were allowed--they even made him throw Brad's goldfish snack away before entering! Definitely beefed up security from four years ago when he and I went together and took tons of pictures. Anyway, here's what Brad told me when he returned, along with my translation:

Thunderbirds airplane
(He saw the Thunderbirds fly in their airplanes)

Airplane scared
(He was scared of the airplanes)

(Because the airplanes were loud)

Daddy cover ears
(So Daddy covered his ears)

Sign it for me Thunderbirds
(And then the Thunderbirds signed a poster for him)

I love it!
(He had a good time)

Congratulations, Lyndsey!

I forgot to post this yesterday: my little sister graduated from law school. Congrats, Lynds!

Inside-Out German Chocolate Cake

I found this recipe on when I was searching for German Chocolate--Doug's favorite. It's the first time I've ever caramelized milk, it turned out pretty well. Thanks for the cooking gene, Oma!

"I kiss her"

She's on a different blanket in this picture, just a few minutes later, because she suddenly spit up a huge amount...which I caught on camera! I'll spare you details...

Aunt Lyndsey and Aunt Kelly are here visiting, and took Brad to the mall, where he persuaded them to buy a pretzal, water, nuggets, and fries. I guess that's what aunts are for.

I'm Still a Girl!

Anne has outgrown most of the pink and purple pajamas that people have given her, so we've moved on to the oodles of pajamas that Brad wore. Don't feel sorry for her, though--she still has a closetful of girly daytime clothes!

They don't look alike, do they?

Doug introduced Brad to the Hallelujah Chorus sung by the Naval Academy via YouTube this weekend. Now he wants to watch it ALL THE TIME.

Pretty Girl

I don't want to sit still--I want to eat my dress! It tastes so good!

Happy Birthday, Lyndsey!

Happy Birthday, Lyndsey--you're halfway to 50!

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Happy Mother's Day

Nicole, Lyndsey, Kelly, and Ben

PS Looking at this picture now, the mother in me wants to grab Kelly and Ben and say, "Get off that railing--you're going to fall over!!" Probably because if it was Brad up there, he'd be climbing up and over the railing in a jiffy!

Early Mother's Day

Carolyn Mahaney and her three daughters blog together on GirlTalk. You should definitely check it out. In honor of Mother's Day, they posted a clip from Funny Moms, which is hilarious. Doug and I watched it together and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you don't have time to watch the whole thing, just watch the last two songs. Have fun!

But I wanted an orange one--what do you mean, Daddy ate them all?

(Those are Jelly Bellys from the Reagan Library--one of Doug's friends graciously sent him a gift bag full of goodies, including this Jelly Belly box.)

We are going to the park, right? Right?

I'm too cute.
